SAFE mycotoxins systems: Mycotoxin prevention from Italy.

Dangers of mycotoxins.

mycotoxin effectsImmunosuppression, decline of fertility and reduced digestion are just some of the consequences of the presence of mycotoxins in animal feed.
The absorption of mycotoxins occurs in the gastrointestinal tract, which is characterized by varying pH levels – pH 3 in the gastric tract but pH 7-8 in the intestine. The products currently on the market are sometimes effective at gastric pH, but all release mycotoxins in the intestine, with severe consequences on animal health.
The mycotoxins aflatoxin and ochratoxin are particularly toxic both for cattle and for people, who may absorb them through milk, eggs (aflatoxins) and pork (ochratoxin), as well as in various foods of plant origin.
Additionally, none of the products the market currently offers have proved particularly effective against metabolites such as fumonisin, zearalenone and vomitoxin.
F.I.S., however, has created a product that exerts a strong binding capacity on all of these metabolites and mycotoxins: SAFE®

SAFE®: the answer to mycotoxin absorption.

In the early ‘90s, F.I.S. was the first company in Italy to develop a product against mycotoxins, which it called SAFE®. As the fruit of F.I.S.' specialist knowledge and its understanding of the Italian livestock industry, SAFE® is tailor-made for dealing with the problem of mycotoxins in feed and raw materials. Unlike similar products, SAFE® is made with six ingredients. No one substance alone is capable of binding effectively all mycotoxins, which differ in their structure and chemical characteristics. Together, however, these six components form a winning team for complete detoxification.

Logo ISPAThanks to constant research, which takes place in collaboration with leading centres such as the CNR's Institute of Sciences of Food Production in Bari, we are able to ensure that we have the latest industry knowledge, allowing us to deploy new substances whose adsorbing actions are increasingly selective and effective against mycotoxins.

In addition, F.I.S. is part of a monitoring network that is constantly gathering information concerning the quality of cereals and raw materials used in animal feed. This enables us to create a product that is specifically tailored, year in, year out, to combat the contaminants that have been detected as present in Italy.
By using very low doses of SAFE® in your feed, you can therefore prevent all of the problems that are caused by mycotoxins.

Micronutrients in feed.

SAFE® does not alter vitamin or mineral uptake. A careful study has allowed us to identify substances that have a very specific binding action on mycotoxins. The inclusion of these selective components in our formula has produced excellent results:
